Book of the Month
Each month in the year 2012 we will be featuring a Gospel-centered book, as a means to supplement the teaching of God’s Word at Calvary Goodyear. We believe each book will encourage, bless, and strengthen your walk with the Lord, as each one draws your attention to the love of God as revealed in the Gospel.
February 2012 Book of the Month: The Gospel for Real Life
Our featured book for the month of February is The Gospel for Real Life written by Jerry Bridges.
Within this book, Jerry Bridges clearly explains such topics as Justification, Propitiation, Substitution, Union with Christ, Reconciliation, Sanctification, and more! He tackles these topics in his answers to three important questions that every Christian must ask themselves:
1. What is the gospel we should preach to ourselves?
2. Why do we, who are already believers, need to preach it to ourselves?
3. How do we do it?
With clarity and precision, Jerry Bridges answers these questions in a way that any believer can understand, no matter how long he or she has been saved.

January 2012 Book of the Month: A Gospel Primer
Our featured book for the month of January is A Gospel Primer for Christians, written by Milton Vincent.
This short book is divided into four parts in which Milton Vincent articulates the message of the Gospel. In Part 1, Milton explains the benefits of rehearsing the Gospel daily. Part 2 contains a prose version of the Gospel narrative. A poetic version of the Gospel narrative is provided in Part 3. Finally, in Part 4 Milton shares how the Gospel has changed his life and testimony, and in so doing explains how the book came to be.
