The popular culture is constantly at work to distract and rip off the youth of today. Therefore, our youth are in great need of knowing God loves them and has a plan for their lives.
James 1:21-24
"Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was."
We are committed to building upon the work that has been established by the Children's Ministry. The ultimate goal of Youth Ministry is for every student to come to know the Lord in a very intimate, passionate and personal way. The Youth will be instructed to live a life that is set apart for our Lord Jesus Christ. Our desire is to equip them to make the Lord known to the world around them through Worship, Evangelism and Service.
In order to accomplish this goal, the Lord has commissioned us with three objectives:
Systematic Bible teaching!
Psalm 119:105
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
It is essential for young impressionable and developing minds to attend a church where the entire Bible is taught verse by verse. This will tremendously aid in the comprehension of God's overall program for the world as well as His specific promises. Our Junior High Youth are regularly exposed to the teachings of scripture, and are given opportunities to ask questions that are relevant to their faith and daily life.
Prayer is essential!
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Today youth have so many options to communicate (i.e. phone, e-mail, text and social websites) which make it easy to forget that we have a powerful and effective format of communication with God. Prayer is the immediate way to talk to our Maker The Bible commands believers to pray. As we search and study Scripture, we find godly men and women engaged in prayer. Moses, Joshua, Hannah, David, Anna, Peter and Paul spent time praying to God. Our Lord Jesus was also a man of prayer. We as Christians must emulate His example and fall in love with prayer. Junior High Youth will have opportunities to pray in small groups and to seek prayer from peers and Youth Ministry Leaders.
Serve God!
Psalm 100:2
"Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing."
It is the goal for this Ministry to provide opportunities for the Junior High Youth to participate in serving the Lord. Our desire is to see the youth discover the spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit has given them. When the fruit of the Spirit has become evident in the believer’s life, the results are worship, thanksgiving and service. Serving the Lord is an expression of gratitude, worship and affection to God for all He has done. It is only reasonable to give our life to Christ for all He has done on our behalf.
Currently, the Junior High School Youth are systematically studying the following:
Sundays: Jorge and Edith Flores are systematically going through the Gospel of John.
Wednesday Nights: Jorge Flores and Ray Diaz are teaching through the book of Genesis and the Principles of our Faith.

Parents are encouraged to participate in the monthly prayer meeting as we pray for the Youth Ministry and any specific needs (takes place last Sunday of every month).
